# Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Fatima
*2022-10-21*

> Bill Young reflects on the 100‑year anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, shares a personal consecration prayer, and leads the Litany of Mary, urging daily rosary and the five‑Saturday devotion.

## Opening and Thanks

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. I’m back from the sixth annual Marian Eucharist Conference at Ave Maria University, celebrating the centenary of Our Lady of Fatima. I want to thank Brother Peter, the Franciscan who interviewed me, and all the speakers—especially Curtis Martin, whose book *Made for More* I’ve begun reading, and Father Bill Casey from Philadelphia for his powerful homily. Thanks also to Kathleen Beckman, Dr. Susan Motto, Brian, and Peggy for helping make the podcast possible, even from a noisy cafeteria.

## The Fatima Anniversary and Our Call to Prayer

The 100‑year anniversary of the Fatima apparitions runs through October 13. Father Casey reminded us that the world faces great trials—from communist regimes to nuclear threats—yet the Lady’s message remains clear: pray the Rosary daily and observe the first five Saturdays of each month. I have been trying to keep the five‑Saturday devotion; the hardest part for me is finding time for confession, but I hope to fulfill all five this year.

## Personal Reflections from the Conference

One insight that stayed with me came from Curtis Martin, who spoke about the importance of showing God’s love rather than merely demanding obedience. He encouraged us to let the love of God draw people to Him. I plan to give his book to my son, hoping it will help him encounter that love.

Father Casey, while not claiming prophetic insight, warned that the centenary could bring signs—perhaps even a warning for October 13. He urged us to pray earnestly so that we might avert any calamity.

## Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Fatima

O Holy Virgin, Mother of Jesus, who appeared at Fatima to the little shepherd children, I accept your message of peace and salvation. Today I consecrate myself to your Immaculate Heart, that I may belong more perfectly to Jesus. Help me fulfill this consecration by loving God and my brothers and sisters, following your example. I offer the prayers, actions, and sacrifices of this day in reparation for my sins and for the sins of others. I promise to pray the Holy Rosary daily, contemplating the mysteries of Christ’s life linked to the mysteries of your life, and to live as a true child of yours, that all may recognize you as the Mother of our Savior.

## The Seven Hail Marys and the Litany of Mary, Queen of All Saints

We now pray the seven Hail Marys:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. (Repeated seven times.)

Then we continue with the Litany of Mary, invoking her many titles—Holy Mother of God, Queen of Angels, Queen of Martyrs, Queen of the Universe, and so forth—each followed by “pray for us.” The litany concludes with the traditional “Lamb of God” petitions and a final prayer asking God to make us worthy of the promises of Christ.

## Feast of the Mexican Martyrs and Final Prayer

Today is also the feast of the 25 Mexican martyrs who suffered between 1915 and 1937. Their witness reminds us of Mary’s call to consecrate ourselves for the conversion of Russia and for the protection of the faithful. Let us pray the Rosary and keep the five‑Saturday devotion as Our Lady of Fatima requested.

May the Lord hear our prayers, grant us mercy, and lead us to eternal life. Amen.

*By consecrating ourselves to Mary’s Immaculate Heart and living the Rosary devotion, we join the Church’s prayerful hope for peace and conversion.*
