# Prayer for the Sick
*2022-10-17*

> Bill Young leads a heartfelt prayer for those suffering illness, recalling the power of Mary’s intercession and the example of Christ’s healing, while sharing recent updates and reflections.

## Technical Update and Recent Projects

Good morning, I’m Bill Young. I’ve finally gotten the podcast back online after some technical hiccups with the recording platform. Thanks to a free download option, I’m back live. My son helped convert our recent workout challenge videos into audio, so we now have English and Spanish versions available. I uploaded them on Sunday, August 13, even though it wasn’t a liturgical feast day.

## Remembering the Children of Fatima

We remember the young children of Fatima, who at nine and ten years old endured imprisonment for their faith. Their courage inspires us to pray for them and for all who suffer for Mary. The rosary, especially when prayed for peace, has already borne fruit, as we have seen signs of de‑escalation in places like North Korea.

## Mary’s Intercession and the Power of the Rosary

Mary’s role in the Wedding at Cana reminds us that the Son of God listens to His mother. When He turned water into wine, He showed that nothing is impossible with divine assistance. Though I don’t pray the rosary every day, I recognize its importance and ask that we all turn to Mary for her powerful intercession.

## A Personal Request for Annette

A dear friend, Annette, has been diagnosed with stage‑III breast cancer. She recently underwent two operations and is enduring great pain. I asked Mary to intercede, recalling the Fatima prayer she received on July 13, 1917. Let us pray for Annette’s health, that God’s will be done in her life, whether that brings healing or the grace to bear her cross with courage.

## Prayer for the Sick

Lord, we bring before you those who are ill. May your holy will be fulfilled in each person. If healing is your will, grant health; if not, grant the strength to carry their cross. Purify our hearts so we may be worthy instruments of your mercy. Protect the sick, relieve their pain, and let your holy name be glorified through their witness. Through Christ our Lord, amen.

*In every illness, we trust that God’s will, whether healing or perseverance, will be accomplished through prayer and Mary’s intercession.*
