## Offering the precious blood for the sick

July is dedicated to the most precious blood of Jesus Christ. Today, we offer the most precious blood for the sick. In this prayer, there is a space to pause and mention the names of individuals you know who are ill and in need of help. I want to pray specifically for my friend John, who is homebound; while he may be very sick physically, he remains very strong mentally and emotionally.

## Prayers for healing

Jesus, our Savior, divine physician, who heals the wounds of the soul and those of the body, we commend to you John. By the merits of the most precious blood, grant him the grace of good health. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Jesus, our Savior, you who were so merciful when faced with the miserable conditions of humanity and healed all types of infirmity, have compassion on John. By the merits of your most precious blood, we beseech you to free him from his illness. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Jesus, our Savior, who said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and overburdened, I will give you rest,' say again for John the words heard by many sick people: 'Get up and walk,' so that through the merits of your most precious blood, he may run immediately to your foot of your altar and thank you. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Mary, Health of the Sick, pray for John. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Fifth day of the novena to our lady of mount carmel

Today is July 11th, the fifth day of our novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. O Mother of Fair Love, through your goodness, as your children, we are called to live in the spirit of Carmel. Help us to live in charity with one another, prayerful as Elijah of old, and mindful of our call to minister to God's people.

We now pause and mention our petitions. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
