# Consecrating Our Lives to the Sacred Heart
*2022-06-24*

> Bill and John celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart by praying the Act of Consecration of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, offering prayers for souls in purgatory, and reflecting on the love of Christ’s heart.

## Welcome and Personal Reflections

Bill welcomes listeners to the June 24th episode, noting that it is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He shares that he is recovering from a cold after testing positive for COVID‑19 a week earlier, thanks God for his vaccinations, and recalls a memorable 2017 gathering in Miami where the relic of St. Pio’s heart was displayed. The memory of a woman touching a cloth before the relic and Jesus asking, “Who touched my cloth?” reminded Bill of the power of faith.

## The Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart

Bill leads the Act of Consecration as written by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. He recites:

“I, William, consecrate myself to the life, actions, sorrows, and sufferings of the most adorable Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, that I may honor, love, and glorify Him. This is my inviolable will: to belong totally to Him, to do everything for His love, abstaining from anything that might displease Him. I choose the Sacred Heart as the sole object of my love, the custodian of my life, the token of my salvation, and the remedy for my weakness. O Heart of goodness, be my justice before God. O Loving Heart, I place all my trust in You, for I fear my own malice and weakness. May Your pure love be impressed upon my heart, that I may never be separated from You. Through Your mercy, may my name be written in You, that I may live and die as Your servant. Amen.”

## Prayers for the Faithful and for Souls in Purgatory

John offers a prayer to the Sacred Heart, asking that the world be united in love and that the Church be protected from all harm. They then pray for the souls in purgatory, especially those dear to the Sacred Heart, asking that God’s mercy draw down upon them the streams of blood and water from Christ’s heart, extinguishing the flames of purgation.

The hosts recite the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed, followed by a heartfelt petition for the souls detained in purgatory, invoking the compassion of the Sacred Heart.

## Communion, Closing Prayers, and Invitation

Bill and John conclude with a brief communion prayer, offering the Body and Blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins and the salvation of the world. They repeat a short prayer of trust in Divine Mercy, affirming their reliance on God’s endless compassion.

Bill invites listeners to join a special rosary for the Sacred Heart that will be held after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Gregory the Great, and encourages comments and questions via email (w.r.young12@yahoo.com) or the People Podcast platform.

*May the Sacred Heart of Jesus fill our lives with love, mercy, and a steadfast commitment to follow Him.*
