# The miracles and the signs of Divine Mercy
*2022-02-07*

> Bill Young and John O'Rourke lead a prayer session focused on the Holy Spirit and the Divine Mercy, incorporating the Chaplet and the Litany of Divine Mercy.

## Invoking the Holy Spirit

Since February is dedicated to the Holy Spirit, we begin our time together by asking for the Spirit's guidance. We pray for the Spirit of life to renew creation and birth a more righteous society, for the Spirit of knowledge to render the Church holy and obedient to the Gospel, and for the Spirit of fortitude to give the Church courage in announcing salvation to all people. We ask the Spirit of resurrection to lead us toward eternal life and glory.

## Prayers for the Holy Souls

As it is Monday, we dedicate a special intention to the souls in Purgatory. We ask that the precious blood shed by our Divine Son, Jesus, may be applied to those souls, especially the one nearest to entering into glory, so that they may begin to praise and bless God forever without delay.

## The Chaplet and Litany of Divine Mercy

We move into the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, offering the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. We reflect on the sorrowful passion of our Lord and trust in His infinite mercy.

Following the Chaplet, we pray the Litany of Divine Mercy. We acknowledge that His mercy is unfathomed by any human or angelic intellect, that it is the source of miracles and wonders, and that it encompasses the whole universe. We trust in the mercy that flowed from the open wound of the heart of Jesus and the mercy found in the Holy Eucharist and the founding of the Church.

## Intercessions for Priests and the World

We conclude our prayers by asking the Holy Spirit to raise up holy and wise priests within the Church. We pray that through their ministry of the Word and the administration of the sacraments, they may produce abundant fruits of eternal life and bring about the religious renewal of the world desired by the Holy Father.

Finally, we keep in our prayers the conversion of sinners. We specifically pray against the influence of satanic conferences and events, asking that such gatherings be unsuccessful and that the communities affected may be protected.

*By immersing ourselves in the Divine Mercy and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we find the strength to pray for the holiness of the priesthood and the conversion of the world.*
