# Prayer for Haiti Earthquake Victims and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy
*2021-08-22*

> Bill and John pray for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, share a 50‑50 raffle fundraiser, and lead the sixth day of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, ending with a prayer to the Holy Trinity.

## Fundraising for Haiti

We raised almost $50,000 in our recent 50‑50 raffle. Half of the proceeds will go to the victims of the Haiti earthquake, where more than 2,000 people have died and thousands are injured or homeless. If you’d like to support the cause, you can buy a raffle ticket directly through the link we’ll post in the show notes.

## Opening Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

Lord, we pray for the souls in purgatory, especially those most destitute and in need of your mercy. May they be drawn into your glorious light. Amen.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we entrust all souls to your loving care. Amen.

## The Chaplet of Divine Mercy – Day Six

Today is the sixth day of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Jesus asks us to bring Him the meek and humble souls, especially the little children. He reminds us that only humble hearts can receive His grace. May we, like earthly angels, keep vigil at His altar and offer our prayers for these souls.

We recited the Apostles’ Creed, the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Psalm 130, asking God to hear our cries for mercy.

## Litany of Divine Mercy

John led the litany, and we responded each time, “I trust in you.” The litany praised Divine Mercy as the source of all life, miracles, and salvation, extending from the sacraments to the very heart of Jesus.

## Sacrificial Prayer for Haiti

We offered a sacrificial prayer for those suffering in Haiti, asking Jesus to bring conversion to sinners and to heal the wounds of the earthquake and recent hurricanes. We asked the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for the children of Panama, whose prayer was given in 1917.

## Prayer to the Holy Trinity

Glory be to the Father, who created us in God’s image; glory be to the Son, who delivered us from sin and opened the gates of heaven; and glory be to the Holy Spirit, who sanctifies us in baptism and continues to pour out graces each day. Amen.

*May the mercy of Christ flow abundantly to the humble souls of Haiti and to all who seek His love.*
