*2021-07-15*

> Bill Young leads a solo prayer session, celebrating his son’s birthday and offering the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Thursday Purgatory prayers, and a special intention for those who do not yet know God.

## Opening Thanks and Personal Celebration

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. Yesterday we celebrated my son Gregory’s 28th birthday. After a difficult first pregnancy and two miscarriages, we prayed the Rosary for many weeks while my wife was on bed rest{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{

## Thursday Purgatory Prayer

We now pray the Thursday Purgatory prayer for the souls in purgatory:

“Lord God Almighty, by the precious blood and body of our Lord Jesus Christ, we ask that you deliver the souls in purgatory, especially those most devoted to the mystery of your infinite love, that they may, with your Holy Spirit, ever praise you for eternal glory. Amen.”

Followed by the Our Father, Hail Mary, Psalm 13, and the Apostles’ Creed.

## The Chaplet of Divine Mercy – Fourth Day

Today is the fourth day of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, a special intention for those who do not yet believe in God or know Him. We pray:

“Eternal Father, turn your mercy toward the souls who do not yet know you. Draw them into the light of the Gospel, that they may experience the great happiness of loving you.”

We then recited the Litany of Divine Mercy, repeating the response “I trust in you” for each attribute of divine mercy.

## Special Intentions and Closing Prayer

We offered a prayer for my co‑host John O’Rourke, who is battling cancer, and for all who suffer from illness, loss, or the recent tragedies such as the Surfside building collapse. The simple prayer we used is:

“Jesus, for the love of you, for the conversion of poor sinners, and for reparation for offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

We concluded with a prayer asking God’s endless mercy to strengthen us in difficult moments and keep us confident in His love.

*May God’s infinite mercy draw all souls, especially those who have not yet known Him, into the light of the Gospel.*
