# Easter Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Stories
*2021-04-04*

> Bill Young and co‑host John O’Rourke celebrate Easter by praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and sharing recent Easter experiences.

## Opening Prayer and the Creed

Bill welcomes listeners and wishes everyone a Happy Easter. He and John begin with an opening prayer invoking the source of life and the fountain of mercy, followed by the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed. They then offer the traditional Eucharistic prayer, asking the Father to accept the body and blood of Christ for the sins of the whole world.

## The Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Bill explains that today is the third day of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, which began on Good Friday and continues through the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. He leads the Chaplet, invoking the merciful heart of Jesus and asking that His grace flow to all souls. After the Chaplet, they pray the Litany of Divine Mercy, repeatedly responding, “I trust in you,” while recalling the many ways God’s mercy sustains us—from the mystery of the Trinity to the hope of the dying.

## Easter Stories from the Parish

Bill shares a personal Easter story from his ministry at St. Maximilian and St. Pius. He was called to serve as a Eucharist minister for both the Spanish and English Masses. While waiting in the vestibule, he noticed three leaves arranged in a triangle—a reminder of the Holy Trinity. Though the arrangement was imperfect, it moved and formed a perfect triangle, which he took as a sign of God’s presence on Easter.

John adds that he attended a virtual Mass and was encouraged by the full churches he saw online. He mentions an Irish priest in Georgia who gave a homily that lifted spirits after the pandemic closures.

## Upcoming Divine Mercy Sunday

Bill reminds listeners that Divine Mercy Sunday will feature a special service, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at various parishes such as St. Gregory the Great and St. David’s. He encourages everyone to attend confession before the feast and to join the Zoom Chaplet sessions that continue throughout the week.

## Closing Blessing

Bill closes with a prayer asking God to increase His endless mercy in us, especially in difficult moments. He invites listeners to join the next Zoom session at 3 p.m., wishes everyone a blessed Easter, and encourages continued prayer.

*May the mercy of the Risen Christ fill our hearts this Easter season.*
