> Bill Young shares a powerful traditional prayer, "I Adore You, O Holy Cross," intended to release souls from Purgatory when recited on Good Friday.

## The Power of the Holy Cross

Welcome to the 56th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries' Prayer N Lunch. Today is Good Friday. Following our first podcast of the day, which focused on the Stations of the Cross, we are gathering for a special prayer called "I Adore You, O Holy Cross."

This prayer has been highlighted by various popes, including Pope Gregory XIII and Pope Paul XI, who confirmed that reciting this prayer 33 times on Good Friday can free 33 souls from Purgatory. Additionally, it is said that if recited 50 times every Friday, it can free 35 souls. Our hope today is to free 33 souls through this devotion.

## A Lenten Prayer for Renewal

Before we begin the formal prayers, I want to continue our Lenten journey together. Let us pray: Holy Spirit, send me Your Spirit. Help me to give of myself. Help me to turn away from sin. Help me to fast and pray so that I may know You better. Let me be renewed through my journey to share Your grace with the world. Amen.

## The Prayer: I Adore You, O Holy Cross

I worship you, O Holy Cross, which was adorned with the most holy body of my Lord, covered and stained by His most precious blood. I worship you, my God, crucified for me. I worship you, O Holy Cross, for love of the one who was my Lord. Amen.

*By reciting the "I Adore You, O Holy Cross" prayer 33 times on Good Friday, we can join in the spiritual work of freeing souls from Purgatory.*
