## Honoring the Queen of Angels

Good morning. This is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is the first Saturday of the month, and we are offering a prayer dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Queen of the Angels and of all people.

## The Greatness and Virtues of Mary

Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Queen of angels and of all people, we thank the adorable and most holy Trinity for the gracious privileges for which He has favored you. We believe that the Church teaches us about your greatness, your power, your goodness, and your virtues. We believe in particular, O Mary, that your conception was immaculate, and that your maternity was united with your inviolate perpetual virginity. Through the fullness of graces which you received and your faithfulness in responding to them, you were raised to the highest degree of holiness above all heavenly and human creatures.

## Co-redemptrix and Queen of Heaven

We believe, O Mary, that through the part you played in the redemption of the world, you merited the title of Co-redemptrix of humankind. Through the partnership that God gave you in dispensing His favors, you became the treasure of such favors to heaven. You were assumed into heaven, body and soul, given a universal kingdom, and proclaimed sovereign Queen of angels and of humankind. We believe that you use your unlimited power for the salvation of souls and for the comfort of the afflicted, always hoping for those who invoke you, and granting graces even to those who have not yet invoked you.

## A Plea for Mercy and Forgiveness

O Mother of divine grace, refuge of sinners, and powerful help of Christians, receive our humble thanksgivings for the great number of graces which you obtain for the whole Church and for all your children. Forgive us, O Queen Mother of mercy, for all the unfaithful acts which we have committed against you, and for the times we failed to love, honor, and imitate you through the help of divine grace. Forgive all the blasphemy hurled at you, the violations of your images, and the ingratitude and outrage which have pierced your motherly heart. Forgive the many souls consecrated to you who are unfaithful to your grace.

## Making Amends

We want to make amends for these many insults, and we unite ourselves to the choirs of angels and saints, and to the chosen ones who praise you on this earth and in heaven. Accept this expression of our filial love. Show yourself to be our mother, and make us worthy of being true children and faithful servants. Grant that we may be worthy of being called as such. Amen.

*By honoring Mary's unique role in redemption and seeking her forgiveness, we draw closer to the heart of the Holy Trinity.*
