# Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ and a Call to Vigilance
*2020-06-27*

> Bill Young leads a short prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ and shares his concerns about the political climate, urging listeners to pray and stay vigilant.

## Opening Remarks

Good afternoon, this is Bill Young. Happy birthday to my wife, Pat. Today we’ll begin with a short but powerful prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ.

## Political Commentary

I want to comment briefly on what’s happening in Washington. Attorney General William Barr is testifying before the House, and a Democratic representative from Georgia repeatedly interrupted him, refusing to accept his answers. This is a political maneuver, not a legal one. Barr is a good attorney who follows the law.

I’m deeply concerned about the direction of the Democratic Party. Violence and murder in our cities are being ignored, and many voters are being misled by the media. There is a growing fear that speaking the truth could cost someone their job or even their safety. Groups such as Black Lives Matter have been labeled by some as extremist, and there are calls to treat them as terrorist organizations.

I also question the integrity of certain political figures. A good person does not engage in illegal activity, espionage, or false testimony. When the investigations into these matters become public, we may see indictments of high‑level officials.

If President‑elect Joe Biden wins, many fear a socialist agenda that could undermine the Constitution. Some describe Biden as a puppet who cannot handle tough questions or debates, suggesting that others are pulling the strings behind the scenes.

## Moral and Social Concerns

Beyond politics, I’m alarmed by attacks on fundamental freedoms—gun rights, free speech, and religious liberty. Some states are restricting church gatherings, and there is a push to limit abortion and same‑sex marriage, which I believe contradicts God’s plan. Abortion, in particular, is the taking of innocent human life; the science shows that a fetus is a human being, and the Church teaches that this is murder.

God’s mercy is always available for those who repent, and I pray for those who have been involved in abortion to find forgiveness and healing.

## Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, who redeemed us with your precious blood, we adore you. You paid the infinite price for our salvation. May your divine blood purify our souls and protect us from the devil’s temptations. Through the Eucharist, we partake in your sacrifice and are united in love, peace, and mutual respect. Fill our hearts with the Holy Spirit, that we may live in gratitude and atone for our sins.

May all people be blessed, and may we, your faithful, proclaim your glory on earth as in heaven. Amen.
