# Palm Sunday Prayer by St. Thomas More
*2020-04-04*

> Bill Young shares a Palm Sunday prayer from St. Thomas More, reflecting on the narrow way, bearing the cross, and the Passion of Christ, and dedicates it to a departed friend.

## Opening the Prayer

Good evening, it’s Bill Young. As we begin Easter Week, I’m praying from a small book called *Living with Christ*, which offers a new prayer each day. Today’s prayer is for Palm Sunday and was written by St. Thomas More.

## The Prayer of St. Thomas More

“Give me grace, good Lord, to walk the narrow way that leads to life, to bear the cross with Christ, to keep the Passion ever before my eyes, that my death may be ever at hand, that death may be no stranger to me, that I may pray for pardon before the day of judgment, and that I may continually keep in mind the suffering of Christ for my benefit, unceasingly give thanks, and pray for the time I have lost.”

## Dedication

I would like to dedicate this prayer this week to my friend Eugene, who passed away about a week ago. He gave me this book, *Living with Christ*, for Holy Week 2015. May his soul rest in peace.

*May we walk the narrow way with Christ, ever mindful of His Passion, especially as we pray for those we have lost.*
