# Day 7 – Consecrating St. Joseph and Asking Holy Mary to Pray for Us
*2020-02-23*

> Bill Young continues the seven‑day consecration to St. Joseph, explaining how honoring Joseph and Mary leads to divine blessings and invites listeners to pray the Litany of St. Joseph.

## Why We Honor St. Joseph and Mary

All Christians belong to St. Joseph because Jesus and Mary belong to him. He wants us to grow in virtue and love of God and neighbor, and the best way to do that is to imitate Jesus’ total entrustment to Mary and Joseph. Jesus is not offended when we place our trust in them—He Himself entrusted Himself to them. Honoring Mary and Joseph brings us the favor of the Son, just as a son honors his father.

## St. Joseph as the Model Knight of the Holy Queen

St. Joseph’s love for Mary is the prototype of total consecration. He promised to protect and honor her virginity, becoming her beloved provider and servant. When we allow Joseph to increase our love for Mary, he “empties the treasures of heaven” for us. He is the first human to be totally consecrated to the Blessed Virgin, and through him we become knights of the Holy Queen, ready to fight for the Kingdom of Heaven.

## The Litany of St. Joseph

We now pray the Litany of St. Joseph, invoking his many virtues:

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Mary, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us. …

Joseph, most just; most prudent; most courageous; most obedient; most faithful; mirror of patience; lover of poverty; guardian of the Virgin; pillar of families; protector of the Church; …

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord. …

Let us pray: O God, who in loving providence chose Blessed Joseph as the spouse of the Most Holy Mother, grant us his intercession in heaven. You who live and reign forever, Amen.

## Closing Thoughts

May we, like St. Joseph, take Mary into our hearts and homes, becoming true knights of the Holy Queen, and may Holy Mary pray for us all.

*Honoring St. Joseph and Mary opens the treasures of heaven and makes us true knights of the Holy Queen.*
