# A request from Mary

## A Sign in the Theater

Recently, I went to see a movie called Love and Mercy about St. Faustina. It was a wonderful film that I highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more about her life and Divine Mercy. After the movie, there were testimonies from sisters and individuals. While listening, I felt a persistent tugging on my chair. At first, I thought it was just someone trying to leave, but then I noticed a very strong smell of roses.

I asked the people sitting near me if they smelled it or were wearing perfume, but they hadn't noticed anything. I spoke with a few women from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Miami Beach, and they confirmed they didn't smell anything. I've been contemplating this experience and what Mary wanted me to know. I believe she is calling us to expand our outreach.

## Expanding the Mission

During my conversation at the theater, one lady expressed interest in the podcast but mentioned she wanted it in Spanish. I believe this was the purpose of the sign: Mary wants our podcast to be available in other languages so that everyone can understand. We are already making progress; Yolanda, a member of the Legion of Mary at St. David's, is currently translating the official handbook of the Legion of Mary into Spanish, one chapter at a time.

We also have French speakers in the Legion, and I know others who are bilingual and craving these podcasts in their native tongues. People are reaching out because they want the Word of God in their lives, and they want to understand it fully. Just as the Holy Spirit enabled the Apostles to speak in different tongues, I hope we can provide these prayers and teachings in Spanish, French, Creole, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, Italian, Polish, and beyond.

## Reflections on Salvation

In our reading from the book One Bread, One Body, we look at Luke 13:22-30. The text asks, 'Are you saved?' While some may ask if only a few are saved, Jesus tells us to 'strive to enter through the narrow door.' This implies that salvation requires effort and a living faith.

Jesus wills everyone to be saved, and His saving death was not in vain. However, there is no such thing as 'blessed presumption.' We achieve salvation by living out our baptism—completely rejecting Satan and loving the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We must accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior on His terms and give ourselves totally to Him.

## Prayer and Devotion

Today we focused on the Novena to Divine Mercy, specifically the prayer to bring all devoted and faithful souls into the ocean of His mercy. We also prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary, meditating on the Resurrection, the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption, and the Coronation of Mary.

I want to remind everyone that these podcasts are not for me; they are for our Lord Jesus, the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the saints. Anything Mary asks of us is always intended to bring us closer to the Trinity.

*We must take the call to evangelize seriously, ensuring the Word of God is accessible to all people in their own native languages.*
