## A Plea for Healing and Peace

Lord, we lift our friend's brother, Orlando Vargas, in prayer. Although it appears that he may be nearing the end of his life due to pancreatic cancer and complications, we are praying for a miracle of healing, both spiritual and physical. We ask you, Lord, that even if the healing miracle does not happen, his soul be ready for heaven. Embrace his family and give them the grace they need.

## Spiritual Transformation and Reconciliation

We pray for Orlando to experience a profound transformation and an encounter with the deep, unconditional love of Jesus and our Mother Mary in ways that are healing, freeing, and life-giving. We pray for love, healing, and mercy to triumph in all his relationships with God and others, especially those still in need of healing and forgiveness. We ask for grace and strength so that anything in his life that is currently disordered may be put in order.

## Intercession for Caregivers and Family

We pray for the medical personnel, that they be guided and moved by God's wisdom and love. We ask for divine grace, love, and wisdom for the family, that they may provide the best possible support for him and for each other, and that they may have peace knowing they have done everything possible to bless him. We also urgently pray for anyone in his life who is holding a grudge, anger, or resentment of any kind against Orlando, that they may receive the grace in this instance to forgive and to release him now. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

## The Intercession of Saint Padre Pio

I would like to add a healing prayer by Saint Pius. Beloved Padre Pio, today I come to add my prayers to the thousands of prayers offered to you daily by those who love and venerate thee. We ask for cures and healings, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body and mind. Because of thy friendship with the Lord, he heals those who ask to be healed and forgives those whom thou dost forgive.

Through thy visible wounds of the cross, which thou didst bear for fifty years as the chosen of our time to glorify the crucified Christ Jesus—and because the cross has been replaced by other symbols—please help us to bring it back into our midst, acknowledging it as the only true sign of salvation. We lovingly recall the wounds that pierced thy hands, feet, and side. We remember not only the blood thou didst shed in pain, but thy smile, that invisible halo, the sweet-smelling flowers that surround thee, and the perfume of sanctity. In kindness, please help me with a special request for the cure of Orlando Vargas's cancer. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
