## Opening and the Feast of the Assumption

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. Today, Thursday, August 15, we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In honor of Mary, we will pray a novena to Our Lady of Graces and the Rosary, focusing on the luminous mysteries.

## A Healing Prayer for Father Steve and Others

Last night I learned that Father Steve, pastor of St. David’s, was taken to the hospital. Let us pray for his speedy recovery, as well as for my wife’s cousin Roger McCoy, who has cancer, and my friend Annette, who is battling stage‑four breast cancer.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Beloved Saint Padre Pio, we join the countless prayers offered each day for healing and peace. Through your intercession, may the Lord grant physical and spiritual relief to those who suffer, and may He forgive us all.

## Novena to Our Lady of Graces

O Mother of all graces, Mother of God, firstborn daughter of the Eternal Father, look upon my soul with compassion and grant the graces I ask of you. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## The Rosary – Luminous Mysteries

We now pray the Rosary, beginning with the Apostles’ Creed and the Our Father. The first luminous mystery is the Baptism of Jesus: the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and the Father proclaimed, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

The second mystery is the Wedding at Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine, showing His glory through Mary’s intercession.

The third mystery is the Proclamation of the Kingdom (Matthew 10:7‑8), calling us to repentance and trust in God.

The fourth mystery is the Transfiguration, when Christ’s face shone and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.”

The fifth mystery is the Institution of the Eucharist, when Jesus gave us His Body and Blood as the new covenant.

For each mystery we recited the Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be, asking for peace, hope, love, and the grace to follow Christ more closely.

## Closing Prayer

Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope, we cry out to you, poor banished children of Eve. Show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. May we be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Please keep Father Steve, Roger, Annette, and all who are suffering in your prayers. God bless you all.

*May Mary’s Assumption inspire us to trust in God’s healing love for every sick soul.*
