# Chaplet of Divine Mercy for Rosemary
*2019-06-17*

> Bill Young leads a Chaplet of Divine Mercy prayer for Rosemary, a former Legion of Mary sister, and shares information about upcoming Legion of Mary meetings and the “You Did It to Me” DVD series.

## Opening Prayer

We begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord Jesus, source of life, pour forth an ocean of mercy upon the whole world. Fountain of life, divine mercy, empty yourself upon us. Blood and water flow from the heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us; we trust in you.

## The Our Father, Hail Mary, and Apostles’ Creed

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Chaplet of Divine Mercy

On the Our Father beads we pray:

Eternal Father, I offer You the body and blood, soul and divinity of Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of our sins and those of the whole world.

On each of the ten Hail Mary beads we repeat:

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

We repeat this petition for each of the ten beads.

After the ten Hail Marys we pray three times:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

## Closing Prayer

Eternal God, whose mercy is endless and whose compassion knows no limits, pour out Your mercy upon us. In difficult moments may we not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself. Amen.

## Announcements

A reminder: Friday after the Legion of Mary meeting, everyone is welcome to come to St. David’s Catholic Church, Room 207, at 12:30 p.m. We will continue with Lesson 2 of the DVD series by Fr. Michael Gately, “You Did It to Me: Putting Mercy into Action.” Fr. Gately emphasizes that mercy is a matter of spiritual life and death, calling us to the sacraments of confession and to concrete acts of mercy. The series includes a quiz on the “NINJAS” acronym for the next Friday’s meeting.

If you wish to join us earlier, the Legion of Mary meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. God bless you all, and I hope to see you Friday, God willing. Amen.

*May the endless mercy of Christ flow through us, drawing us to confession and compassionate action.*
