> Bill Young celebrates Easter by reflecting on Luke 24:5‑6 and explains how the resurrection calls us to proclaim Christ’s victory through our words and lives.

## Greeting and Scripture

Good morning, this is Bill Young. Happy Easter! It is Easter Sunday, and Christ is risen—hallelujah. Today’s reading is from Luke 24:5‑6: “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but he has risen.”

## The Good News of the Resurrection

The gospel of the resurrection must be proclaimed to all so that everyone might encounter the risen Christ, present and active in history. Through baptism we share in that rising, passing from death to life and from the slavery of sin to the freedom of love. This is the good news we are called to bring to others everywhere.

## Living the Resurrection

Faith in Jesus’ resurrection gives us the most powerful gifts we can offer: hope, love, and the promise of new life. Let us not tire of saying, “Christ is risen.” We must proclaim it not only with words but above all with the witness of our lives—our attitudes, our compassion, and our willingness to walk beside those who are sad or in danger of losing hope.

## A Call to Witness

When we smile with those who smile, weep with those who weep, and share our own experiences of faith, we become living testimonies of the risen Lord. In that way, the light of Christ illuminates the dark moments of our lives and shines outward to others.

*Our lives, lived in the light of the resurrection, become the most authentic proclamation that Christ is risen.*
