# Labor Day Prayer and Rosary with St. Gregory the Great
*2018-09-03*

> Bill Young celebrates Labor Day with a special prayer, a joyful‑mysteries rosary, and announcements about local Catholic events, including the feast of St. Gregory the Great.

## Labor Day Prayer

Lord, on this Labor Day we thank You for the blessing of work. Grant us strength to complete each day, rest when we are weary, and guidance for those seeking employment. Be with those who labor unseen, working tirelessly for the good of all. Amen.

## Community Announcements

The Area Anchor Cancer Foundation is hosting a health fair in Davie, Florida, on Saturday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a blood drive, fire‑truck display, bounce house, and information booths. A do‑it‑yourself retreat led by Fr. Michael Gaille will begin Friday, September 21, at St. David’s Parish; details can be obtained via email (wryoung@yahoo.com) or the Prayer & Lunch Twitter account. Fr. Gaille will also speak at a live event on September 8‑9; tickets are $49 and include lunch.

In June, the third International Congress on the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary drew about 5,000 participants online and featured a relic of St. Padre Pio. A visitor reported feeling a warm sensation when handling the cloth, recalling the Gospel story of the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:21‑43) and emphasizing that faith, not the object, brings healing.

## Rosary and Joyful Mysteries

We prayed the Rosary together, beginning with the opening prayers and the first Hail Mary for peace, the second for love, and the third for hope. The joyful mysteries were recited as follows:

1. **The Annunciation** – humility.
2. **The Visitation** – love.
3. **The Nativity** – poverty and obedience (celebrated on the feast of St. Gregory the Great, whose parish in Plantation, Florida, offers a “first‑Saturday” program of confession, Mass, and catechesis).
4. **The Presentation** – obedience.
5. **Finding the Child Jesus in the Temple** – joy.

Each mystery was followed by the Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a concluding prayer.

We also prayed the Litany of the Saints, invoking St. Gregory the Great, St. John Paul II, St. Louis‑Marie de Montfort, St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, and others.

## Closing Prayer and Invitation

We concluded with the traditional doxology and a prayer to the Holy Trinity. Bill invited listeners to join the upcoming rosary in honor of Mother Teresa on Wednesday and encouraged anyone who can help with production or writing to reach out.

*May the grace of the Holy Spirit strengthen our work and deepen our faith as we pray together.*
