# Divine Mercy Sunday: Seventh Day of the Novena
*2018-04-05*

> Bill Young reflects on the seventh day of the Divine Mercy Novena, focusing on the souls who especially venerate and glorify God's mercy and how Christ promises to protect them.

## The Theme of the Seventh Day

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday, and we are on the seventh day of the Divine Mercy Novena. The title for this day is “Bring to Me the souls who especially venerate and glorify My mercy.” This is a day of great joy for anyone who loves and proclaims God’s mercy.

## Christ’s Promise of Protection

Jesus tells us that He will protect us, even from the fires of hell. Those who venerate His mercy need not fear death, because He will defend each one at the hour of death.

## The Character of the Souls Who Glorify Mercy

These souls are deeply sorrowful over Christ’s Passion and enter most fully into His Spirit. They become living images of His compassionate heart, shining with special brightness in the life to come. Their hearts are filled with deeds of mercy and overflowing joy.

## Prayer for Those Who Venerate Mercy

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful grace upon the souls who glorify You and venerate Your greatness. May Your fabulous mercy embrace them as they depart this life. Their lives are a living Gospel; let their deeds of mercy continue to bear witness to Your love.

## Closing Blessing

We thank God for these souls and trust in the promise that, especially at the hour of death, He will defend and glorify those who venerate His mercy. Amen.

*Those who truly venerate God’s mercy are promised His personal protection and a radiant future in His presence.*
