Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. It’s lunchtime on St. Patrick’s Day, and I hope everyone is enjoying the celebration.

## The Prayer of St. Patrick

May the strength of God pilot us. May the wisdom of God instruct us. May the hand of God protect us. May the word of God direct us. May thy salvation, O Lord, be always ours this day and forever. Amen.

## Why This Prayer Matters

The prayer asks God for the four essential gifts we need in our journey: strength to move forward, wisdom to discern, protection in the midst of danger, and direction from His Word. When we ask for these gifts, we acknowledge that every good thing comes from God and that our salvation is a continual, daily reliance on His grace.
