# The Hidden Face of God

> Bill Young reflects on a mysterious “Trinity shield” he saw, shares how others perceived the image, and leads a rosary and prayers as Lent approaches.

## A Mysterious Trinity Shield

I recently noticed three pink petals arranged in an upside‑down triangle near my recycling bin. I call this the “Trinity Shield.” A few weeks later, at a family gathering, I showed the picture to my nephew’s grandfather, a man who had organized Marian apparitions in Georgia in the 1980s. He saw, in the dirt and flowers above the triangle, the outline of a man looking upward. I was intrigued and decided to test the image with members of my Legion of Mary.

## What Others Saw

During a Legion of Mary meeting, I passed the phone around. Two members saw nothing. The treasurer saw an angel, while our president saw a man with a beard—perhaps a representation of Jesus. The differing visions reminded me that personal perception can vary, much like seeing shapes in clouds.

## Reflections on Hidden Signs

I recalled a similar experience at the canonization Mass of St. Mother Teresa in Rome, where some saw a clear angelic image while others did not. Such moments remind us that God’s face can be hidden, revealed only to those who look attentively and prayerfully.

## Upcoming Events and Recommendations

This Saturday I will travel to Orlando for a presentation by Fr. Michael Gately, author of *Three and One* and the “Morning Glory” retreats. I encourage anyone interested in deepening their Marian devotion to try the 33‑day Morning Glory program.

## A Simple Prayer for the Holy Trinity

Our Legion president shared a short prayer that has helped her in difficult moments:

“What strong you come, more strong is my God, the Holy Trinity, help me with you.”

She repeats it three times, trusting in God’s assistance.

## Rosary and Joyful Mysteries

We concluded with a rosary, beginning with the Joyful Mysteries. I recited the Annunciation (Luke 1:26‑38), the Visitation (Luke 1:39‑45), the Nativity (Luke 2:1‑20), the Presentation in the Temple (Luke 2:22‑38), and the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:41‑52), followed by the traditional prayers of the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

*If we look closely and pray earnestly, we may glimpse the hidden face of God in everyday moments.*
