# Prayer for the Unborn: A Rosary for the 2018 March for Life

## Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, in these troubled times grant every soul peace and security in Your divine will. Give each heart the grace to understand that Your will is holy love in the present moment. Illuminate every conscience so we may see where we are living contrary to Your will, and grant the world the grace to change according to Your timing. Amen.

Divine Infant Jesus, as we pray this rosary, remove from the hearts of the world the desire to commit the sin of abortion. Dispel the veil of deceit Satan places over our hearts, presenting abortion as freedom, and reveal it for what it truly is—sin. Instill in every heart a renewed respect for life from the moment of conception. Amen.

## The Rosary Intentions

The first Hail Mary is offered for love: that every unborn child may be protected and that anyone considering abortion may be guided to choose life.

The second Hail Mary is for hope: that abortion will cease and that all unborn children may be born and thrive.

The third Hail Mary is for peace: that those who have already had abortions may come to Christ for forgiveness through the ministry of priests.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Sorrowful Mysteries for the Unborn

1. **The Agony in the Garden** – We pray for those whose hearts are torn by the decision to abort, that they may turn to Christ’s mercy.

2. **The Scourging at the Pillar** – We ask for purity of heart for all women and men confronting the abortion issue.

3. **The Crowning with Thorns** – Grant courage to those who protect the unborn, that they may provide loving homes for children in need.

4. **The Carrying of the Cross** – Give patience to those awaiting a just law that protects life, that the Supreme Court may finally overturn Roe v. Wade.

5. **The Crucifixion** – Inspire fervent conversion and reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, especially the sin of abortion.

For each mystery we recited the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, asking the Blessed Virgin to pray for sinners now and at the hour of death.

## Closing Prayer and Blessing

O Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead our souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Your mercy. May the prayers of this rosary reach the legislators in Washington, D.C., that they may act to protect the unborn and overturn unjust abortion laws. May all who travel to the March for Life return safely, and may God’s grace sustain them in their witness.

We conclude with the traditional prayer to the Holy Mother of God, invoking St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, St. John the Baptist, St. Peter, and St. Paul to intercede for us. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
