# Celebrating ten years of Prayer N Lunch with the Legion of Mary

## A Decade of Faith and Service

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today we are recording a special 10th anniversary episode here with the Legion of Mary, Tower of David, at St. David's in Davie, Florida. 

Reflecting on the Gospel reading from yesterday, I think of the parable of the talents. Some were given five treasures, some two, and some one. The owner returned to see what had been done with those gifts. A deacon mentioned that these treasures represent our talents. Today, I am offering my talents to our Lord Jesus. Looking back over the last ten years, we've seen 349,000 views, over 12,000 referrals, 179,000 media plays, and 85 comments across 1,552 episodes of Prayer N Lunch.

## Testimonies from the Legion of Mary

I had the opportunity to speak with several members of the Legion of Mary about why they joined. Teresa Gentile shared that she returned to the Legion after years of working because she wanted to come back to the Virgin Mary. Abbella Garcia has been with the Legion for nine years, maintaining a devotion that started in her youth. Kavi Spana, a member for two years, spoke of her lifelong faithfulness to the Virgin Mary and her devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Elena Salazar, who has been with the Legion for six years, explained that her devotion to Mary is her way of getting closer to Jesus and God. She spoke about the importance of praying for world peace through the apparitions of Our Lady, noting that the Blessed Mother hears us every day.

## Praying the Holy Rosary

Together with the group, we prayed the Holy Rosary, beginning with the invocation of the Holy Spirit and the Apostles' Creed. We offered our intentions for Pope Francis, for world peace, and for hope and love for our neighbors. 

We meditated on the Joyful Mysteries: the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Birth of Jesus, the Presentation, and the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. We concluded with the Hail Holy Queen and prayers to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

## The Power of the Rosary and the Legion

Following the Rosary, the members shared personal reflections. One member shared a testimony of a manifestation of the Blessed Mother in a dream, where Our Lady appeared in white with a rosary, encouraging her to seek paradise. This served as a powerful reminder of the importance of the Rosary.

Another member described the Legion of Mary as an extended family and a form of spiritual therapy where members support one another through life's problems. They discussed how the Legion's handbook helps them understand how Mary serves as the temple for Jesus, leading the faithful to God. As St. Padre Pio said, the rosary is the weapon we need for the times we live in; it protects us when the world feels upside down.

## Joining the Army of Our Lady

We closed our session with prayers for the beatification of Servant of God Frank Duff and Venerable Eddie Quayle. We also prayed for the grace to imitate Mary by being patient, without anger or pride, and tolerating all things in love.
