> Bill Young leads a prayer of consecration to St. Michael on his feast day, reflecting on current events, the Legion of Mary, and the need for spiritual protection.

## Feast of the Archangels

Good morning, I’m Bill Young. Today, September 29, is the feast day of the archangels—St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael. We’ll begin with a special prayer of consecration to St. Michael the Archangel.

## Prayer of Consecration to St. Michael

Most noble Prince of the Archangels, courageous warrior of the Almighty, zealous lover of God’s glory, terror of the rebel angels, delight of all righteous angels—my beloved Archangel St. Michael, I desire to be counted among your faithful servants. Today I offer myself, my family, and all that I possess to your powerful protection. Though my offering is small, I am a sinner, yet you delight in the love of my heart. From this day forward, I place myself under your protection; assist me throughout my life, obtain forgiveness for my sins—some serious—and grant me the grace to love my Savior, Jesus Christ. Sweet Mother Mary, with all my heart, obtain for me the assistance I need to attain the crown of glory. Defend me at all times from the enemies of my soul, especially at the hour of my death. Come to me then, most gracious Prince, and aid me in the final conflict with your mighty armor. Keep far from me the arrogant transgressor you once defeated in heaven and cast into the abyss of hell. Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the hour of conflict, that we may not perish at the last judgment. Amen.

## Current Concerns and the Legion of Mary

The people of Puerto Rico and the other islands are still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria; we pray for their healing and for the sanctifying grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Last Sunday we held our monthly Legion of Mary meeting. There is ongoing debate about evangelizing through the Internet. While personal contact is vital, the Internet can reach souls we could never meet in person, especially where religious freedom is threatened. We pray that the Holy Spirit guides us to use these tools wisely and courageously.

## Remembering Hugh Hepner

I want to mention the recent passing of Hugh Hepner, a man known for promoting abortion, contraception, and other practices opposed by the Church. Though he lived contrary to God’s teachings, we pray that God, who came to save all, may grant him mercy. May the Lord’s infinite love reach even those who have rejected Him, and may they encounter Christ, even at the last moment of their lives.

*Through the intercession of St. Michael, we entrust ourselves to divine protection while striving to bring Christ’s mercy to all, especially those far from the Church.*
