> Bill Young leads a prayer to Mary, based on a composition by St. John Paul II, entrusting the new spring of vocations to her intercession.

## Introduction

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today we are offering a special set of prayers to Mary, known as the Madison Prayers. The first four prayers were written by Saint Pope John Paul II.

## Prayer: O Mary, Mother of Divine Grace

O Mary, Mother of Divine Grace, we entrust to you the new spring of vocations. Mother of the Church, you who, by your fiat, opened the doors to the presence of Christ in the world, in history, and in souls, accepting the humble “yes” with perfect willingness, hear our prayer. Grant that, in our time, many men and women may hear the inviting voice of your Son. May they have the courage to leave their families and occupations, setting aside worldly hopes, to follow Christ on the path of discipleship.

Stretch out your paternal hand to all the missionaries working throughout the world, to the religious brothers and sisters who care for the elderly, the sick, the handicapped, and the orphans. Extend your hand to those who commit themselves to teaching, to members of secular institutes who live a silent life of good deeds, and to those in religious orders who bear witness to the faith and love for the salvation of the world.

*May Mary, Mother of Divine Grace, guide a new generation of vocations to bring Christ’s love into the world.*
