> Bill Young discusses the various prayers given to the children of Fatima by the Angel of Peace and the Blessed Mother, emphasizing their importance for the conversion of sinners and world peace.

## The Prayers of Fatima

As we approach the 100th anniversary of the third apparition of Our Lady to the three shepherd children on July 13, 1917, it is a good time to reflect on the prayers she and the Angel of Peace shared. Most of us are familiar with the decade prayer: 'O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead our souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy.'

However, there is also a sacrificial prayer for when we are enduring suffering or offering up mortifications: 'O Jesus, this is for love of you, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in reparation for offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.' Additionally, in the spring of 1916, the Angel of Peace prepared the children for Mary's visits by teaching them the pardon prayer: 'My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You! I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.'

## Praying for the Conversion of Sinners

I recently received a phone call from the wife of a former coworker. This man had previously testified against me in a way that led to me losing my job, but he has now lost his own job due to a pornography addiction in his office. Despite what happened between us, I told his wife that I would pray for him.

I believe the pardon prayer and the prayer to the Most Holy Trinity are especially appropriate here. The latter prays: 'O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I profoundly offer you the most precious blood, the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.' I beg the conversion of this man who has no God in his life and is being led by the devil. God came for the sake of the conversion of sinners, and that is why we pray.

## The Rosary and World Peace

Our spiritual Mother, Mary, knows best. In 1917, she warned that if people did not pray the rosary, a work greater than World War I would occur, which we saw in World War II. She also spoke of the necessity of the consecration of Russia to prevent the spread of evil, which we saw manifest in the rise of Communism.

Looking at the world today, we see the possibility of military options that could lead to millions of lives lost or even a third world war. This is why we must pray the rosary. All Catholics should know how to pray it, and I encourage anyone who doesn't to find a brochure or guide to learn.

## The Workout Rosary Challenge

The biggest complaint I hear is that people don't have enough time to pray. My suggestion is to combine your prayer with your exercise. I use a stationary bike—which is great for the South Florida heat and rain—and I pray the rosary while I pedal. It is a wonderful experience because your spirit, body, mind, and emotions are all moving together.

I am starting a 'Workout Rosary Challenge' to encourage others to do the same. Whether you are on a treadmill or a bike at the gym, you can pray the rosary to yourself. It only takes about 20 minutes, and since you are exercising anyway, it doesn't take any extra time out of your day.

*By integrating the rosary and the prayers of Fatima into our daily routines, we can seek the conversion of sinners and plead for world peace.*
