# Fourth of July Prayer – Prayer for Enemies
*2017-07-04*

> In this episode we pray the Offering of the Precious Blood to the Eternal Father and ask for the intercession of St. Catherine of Siena for an obstinate sinner, reflecting on the meaning of freedom on America’s birthday.

## Offering of the Precious Blood

We begin by offering the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ to the Eternal Father. "Father, we unite the sacrifice of Christ’s blood with our own lives, asking that it may flow into the world as a source of mercy, healing, and redemption. May this offering bring peace to every heart and nation on this Fourth of July."

## Prayer for an Obstinate Sinner

St. Catherine of Siena taught us to pray for those who have hardened their hearts. We invoke her intercession: "St. Catherine, you who bore the fire of Christ’s love, pray for the stubborn sinner who refuses to turn to God. May the Holy Spirit soften his heart, that he may come to repentance and experience the mercy of our merciful Father."

## Reflection on Freedom and Prayer for Enemies

On this day of national celebration, we remember that true freedom is found in Christ. "Lord, grant us the courage to love our enemies, to pray for those who oppose us, and to seek reconciliation. May the light of the Gospel shine brighter than any fireworks, guiding our nation toward justice and peace."

*Freedom is most fully lived when we offer Christ’s love even to those who oppose us.*
