Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the 201st episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries' Prayer and Lunch. Today's prayer is the Offering of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus for the Dead. We will be praying for the souls who have passed on from this life, asking that if they are in purgatory, they may see the light of Jesus and follow that light.

## The agony in the garden and the pillar

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Eternal Father, I offer you the blood which Jesus, your beloved son, shed during the painful agony in the Garden of Olives, in order to obtain the liberation of the souls of purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the blood which Jesus, your beloved son, shed during the cruel scorning at the pillar and the crowning with thorns, in order to obtain the liberation of the holy souls of purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

## The way to Calvary and the crucifixion

Eternal Father, I offer you the blood which Jesus, your beloved son, shed on his way to Calvary, in order to obtain the liberation of the holy souls of purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the blood which Jesus, your beloved son, shed in the crucifixion and in the three hours of agony on the cross, in order to obtain the liberation of the souls of purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

## The Sacred Heart and the intercession of Our Lady

Eternal Father, I offer you the blood which Jesus, your beloved son, shed from the wounds of his most Sacred Heart, in order to obtain the liberation of the holy souls in purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

I humbly implore you to offer to the Eternal Father, for the sake of the holy souls of purgatory, your most precious blood shed from the wounds of your adorable body in your agony and in your death. We ask you, Our Lady of Sorrows, to present to the Father the passion of your beloved son and all the sorrows which your heart suffered, so that the holy souls of purgatory may obtain relief. Once freed from their torment, may they sing of divine mercy forever.
