## A Special Rosary for Fatima

Welcome to Prayer at Lunch. I’m sorry for the recent silence—work kept me busy from early morning until night. In the mail I received a beautiful brochure from the Marian Association of Fatima that reminded me of the promise: “Pray the Rosary daily for peace in the world.” The 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions is this coming Tuesday, June 13, 2017, so I invited listeners to pray the Rosary with me. I ordered additional materials from Michael Gately’s site, hoping to start a new series—perhaps the 33 Days of Mercy or a ten‑week “Consoling the Heart of Jesus” retreat.

## Our Lady’s Prayer for Peace

We began with a prayer to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary:

“Dear Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, we receive your promise of peace and reconciliation through our prayers of the Rosary. May your immaculate heart be our comfort and lead us to God. In these times of war and suffering we consecrate ourselves to you, unite in solidarity through the Rosary, and commend the suffering of humanity to your care. May we, through your holy intercession, bring the world back to your Son and achieve true, lasting peace. Holy Mary of Fatima, pray for us. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

## Opening Prayers and the Joyful Mysteries

We continued with the traditional opening prayers—invocation of the Holy Spirit, the Our Father, the Apostles’ Creed, and a series of three Hail Marys for hope, love, and peace. Then we entered the Joyful Mysteries, beginning with the Annunciation. For each mystery we prayed the Our Father, a Hail Mary, and reflected on the fruit of the mystery (humility, love, poverty, obedience, and joy). The prayers were kept simple and reverent, allowing listeners to pray along.

## Prayers for the Beatifications of Frank Duff and Edel Quinn

After the Rosary, I offered two specific prayers for the causes of beatification.

**Frank Duff** – “God, our Father, you inspired Servant of God Frank Duff to share the mystery of the Church through the Legion of Mary. We thank you for his courage and faith. Through his intercession grant the petitions we now place before you, especially the return of my prodigal son to Christ and the strengthening of all who seek Him. May his life be recognized by the Church for the glory of your name. Amen.”

**Edel Quinn** – I recounted her missionary work in Africa, her deep union with God, and her unwavering devotion to the Eucharist and the Rosary. I prayed for her intercession for personal needs and for the progress of her cause toward canonization.

## Closing Intentions

I asked for prayers for those who are ill, especially a listener named Yoli battling cancer, for those grieving, for peace in troubled regions, and for rain in areas of need such as Orlando and Georgia. I concluded with a reminder of the Eucharist’s gift and the hope of eternal life, urging all to love God and neighbor fully.

*May the Rosary of Our Lady of Fatima bring peace to the world and draw us ever closer to Christ.*
