# Our Lady of Fatima: A Centennial Rosary Celebration
*2017-05-21*

> Bill Young leads a special rosary for the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, reflecting on the mysteries, invoking Mary’s intercession, and praying for the beatifications of Frank Duff and Adele Quinn.

## Opening Prayer

Dear Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, we receive your promise of peace and reconciliation through the rosary. May the Immaculate Heart be our comfort and guide us to God. In these times of war and suffering, we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart, trusting that your intercession will bring the world back to your Son and achieve true, lasting peace. Holy Mary of Fatima, pray for us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

## Invocation of the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, that the world may be renewed. Let the Spirit continue to work in the hearts of all who believe. Through Christ our Lord, amen.

## The Rosary and the Mysteries

We begin with the Apostles’ Creed, the Our Father, and three Hail Marys for hope, love, and world peace. Then we meditate on the Glorious Mysteries:

1. **The Resurrection** – Faith. We proclaim that Jesus is risen and lives.
2. **The Ascension** – Hope. Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father.
3. **The Descent of the Holy Spirit** – Love. The Apostles were filled with the Spirit.
4. **The Assumption of Mary** – Grace. Mary was taken up, a sign of hope for a happy death.
5. **The Coronation of Mary** – Trust in Mary's intercession, as she is crowned Queen of Heaven.

For each mystery we pray a Hail Mary, asking Mary, Mother of God, to pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

## Prayers for the Beatifications

We pray for the beatification of Fr. Frank Duff, founder of the Legion of Mary (born June 7 1889, died November 7 1980). Lord, you inspired him with insight into the mystery of the Church and the role of Mary. Grant his intercession for the conversion of those who do not yet believe, and may his holiness be recognized by the Church.

We also pray for the beatification of Adele Quinn, a servant of God who lived a life of joyful devotion to the Holy Spirit and Mary. May her intercession bring her son and his family to Christ, and may the Church honor her memory.

We ask that any favors granted through their intercession be reported to the Legion of Mary, Montfort House, Dublin.

## Closing Prayer

All‑holy Mother, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. May the Holy Spirit guide us, and may we ever trust in Mary’s maternal care. Through Christ our Lord, amen.

*Through the rosary and Mary’s intercession, we unite our prayers for peace, conversion, and the recognition of holy lives.*
