# Our Lady of Fatima: The 100th Anniversary
*2017-05-13*

> Bill Young reflects on the centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima and leads a novena for peace and the conversion of sinners.

## Celebrating the Centenary

Today is May 13th, the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. We celebrated a special Mass at St. Davis today, where several of us were consecrated to Mary, and I personally renewed my consecration. It was a beautiful Mass. We were also able to provide Father Chris with a beautiful new vestment featuring the image of Our Lady with the three shepherd children.

## A Day of Canonization

This is a particularly special day as Pope Francis is in Portugal and Panama. Today, two of the children were canonized: Saint Francisco and Lucia. It is a grace to see these children recognized as saints.

## Novena to Our Lady of Fatima

I would like to lead a novena to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. We trust in your promise of peace and reconciliation in the world through the prayers of the Rosary, knowing that your Immaculate Heart will be our comfort and the way that leads us to God. In these times of world upheaval, fragility, and pain, we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. Through our Rosaries, we commend the suffering of humanity to your care, praying that we may bring the world back to your Son. By your holy intercession, may we achieve true and lasting peace. Holy Mary of Fatima, pray for us.

Most Holy Virgin, who came to Fatima to reveal to the three little shepherds the treasures of grace hidden in the prayer of the Rosary, inspire our hearts with a sincere love for this devotion. By meditating on the mysteries of our redemption, may we gather the fruits of this prayer and obtain the conversion of sinners and the conversion of Russia. I earnestly seek this favor, and I invite you now to offer your own personal intentions. Mine is for my prodigal son. We ask this for the greatest glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of all people. Amen.

## Closing Prayers

A particular indulgence is granted to the faithful who raise their minds with humble confidence to God.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*Through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima and the prayer of the Rosary, we seek the conversion of sinners and lasting peace for the world.*
