# Prayer for the Beatification of Venerable Edel Quinn
*2017-05-11*

> Bill Young leads a prayer for the beatification of Venerable Edel Quinn, sharing her story and asking for her intercession, especially for a miracle of healing from type‑2 diabetes.

## Who Was Edel Quinn?

Edel Quinn was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1907 and died in 1944. She devoted her short life to the Legion of Mary, traveling to East Africa to serve the poor. Known for her joyful spirit and deep seriousness of vocation, she lived a holy life that many believe merits sainthood.

## Why We Need Two Miracles

For beatification, the Church requires evidence of two miracles attributed to the candidate’s intercession. Bill invites listeners to pray for Edel’s intercession and to report any extraordinary healings that might be considered miracles.

## A Personal Petition

Bill shares his own request: he has lived with type‑2 diabetes for over ten years and asks that Edel’s intercession bring him healing. He hopes his cure could count toward the required miracles.

## The Prayer

Eternal Father, I thank you for the grace you gave your servant, Venerable Edel Quinn, that she might live always in the joy of your presence, for the radiant charity infused into her heart by the Holy Spirit, and for the strength she drew from the Bread of Life until death, for the glory of your name, in loving dependence on Mary, Mother of the Church. Merciful Father, confident that her life was pleasing to you, I beg you to grant me, through her intercession, a special favor: that I may be cured of my diabetes, that this miracle may bear witness to the glory she enjoys in heaven, and that she may be glorified by the Church on earth. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

## How to Respond

If you experience a healing you believe is a miracle, please document it and send the information to the Legion of Mary headquarters in Dublin.

*Through Edel Quinn’s intercession, we pray for healing and for the grace that may lead to her beatification.*
