# Seventh Day Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima
*2017-05-11*

> Bill Young leads the seventh day of the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima, beginning with a prayer for mothers and St. Damien, followed by the Apostles’ Creed and the chaplet’s prayers.

## Opening Prayer and Blessing for Mothers

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to Prayer and Lunch. Before we begin the seventh day of the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima, I want to bless all the mothers who raise their sons and daughters and care for us throughout our lives.

## Feast of St. Damien and a Prayer for His Intercession

Today is the feast day of St. Damien of Molokai. Born in Belgium in 1840, he went to Hawaii and devoted his life to caring for those afflicted with leprosy, ultimately giving his own life for them. Let us ask St. Damien to pray for us, especially for all mothers.

## Invocation of the Trinity

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me. Lord, be with us now and forever, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Seventh Day Chaplet Prayer

O Health of the Sick, you sent your shepherds to heal the sick, granting health to some and not to others, teaching us that illness can be a precious gift of God and a means of salvation. Grant that we may accept God’s difficulties in life, not complaining but blessing the Lord, who offers these trials as a means of satisfying the temporal punishments merited by our sins.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for sinners. Amen.

## Closing Invocation

Our Lady of Fatima, we praise you.

*May we embrace our trials as gifts that draw us closer to Christ, trusting in Mary’s intercession.*
