# Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima: Day Eight
*2017-05-11*

> Bill Young reflects on the life of St. Ignatius of Laconi and leads the eighth day of the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima.

## The Example of St. Ignatius of Laconi

Today is May 11th, the feast day of St. Ignatius of Laconi, who lived from 1701 to 1781. He was a Capuchin monk known for his work as a beggar, collecting money to help his brothers. I feel I have something in common with him; whenever I do a charitable event, I am usually the one selling raffle tickets, and I try to do a good job because it is for charity. Thank you, St. Ignatius, for helping me when I am begging and selling raffle tickets.

## Opening Prayers

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. And on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## The Eighth Day of the Chaplet

O most holy Virgin Mary, who expressed to the shepherds your desire that a sanctuary be built in Fatima in honor of the most holy Rosary, grant us a great love for the mysteries of our redemption, which are remembered in the recitation of the Rosary, in order that we may live so as to enjoy its precious fruits, the greatest that the most holy Trinity has granted to humanity.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, pray for us. Amen.

## Closing Intercessions

God bless you all. For those who are struggling and those who need the most help at this moment today: St. Ignatius and Mary, Mother of Jesus and all our mothers, intercede to your Son, Jesus Christ, for the help and needs of those who are struggling most mentally and emotionally to go on. Amen.

*May we develop a great love for the mysteries of our redemption through the Rosary and seek the intercession of the saints for those struggling emotionally and mentally.*
