# Sixth Day of the Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes

> Bill Young leads the sixth day of the Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes, beginning with a prayer for priests, the Litany of Our Lady, the novena prayers, and the Apostles’ Creed.

## Prayer for Holy and Wise Priests

We begin by praying for the Holy Spirit to raise up holy and wise priests in the Church. 

"O Holy Spirit, you who are called the Spirit of Truth, sanctify the fields that produce good fruit. Raise up in your Church holy and wise priests, that through the ministry of the Word and the administration of the sacraments they may bring abundant and eternal fruits of salvation to souls, and that the renewal of the world our Holy Father desires may soon come to pass. Amen."

We then recite the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

## Litany of Our Lady of Lourdes

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Immaculate Virgin, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of the Divine Savior, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, who chose a poor and humble girl to be your interpreter, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, who caused a spring to flow from the earth to comfort pilgrims, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, dispenser of gifts from heaven, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, to whom Jesus can refuse nothing, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, never invoked in vain, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, comfort of the afflicted, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, healer of every sickness, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, hope of pilgrims, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, who invites us to penance, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, supporter of the Holy Church, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, advocate of the souls in purgatory, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes, Virgin of the Holy Rosary, pray for us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, graciously hear us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ, we pray to you.
Lord Jesus, we thank you for the graces poured forth through your Mother, Our Lady of Lourdes. Grant that, through her intercession, we may share in those gifts and love you more fully. Amen.

## Novena Prayer for the Sixth Day

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

O God, come to my aid; Lord, make haste to help me. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

**Apostles’ Creed**
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Lady of Lourdes, health of the sick, pray for us. Grant, if it be God’s will, a complete recovery to those who are ill, and increase their strength. May they be healed today.

**Act of Consecration to the Virgin Mary**
We recite three Hail Marys:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

(Repeated three times.)

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Blessed be the immaculate conception of the most blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.
