## Political Commentary

I’m hearing a lot of talk about giving President‑elect Donald Trump a chance. Some people, even from the White House, are urging us to do so. I’m in favor of that. The opposition seems to be driven by figures like George Soros, a self‑described progressive who is an atheist and, in my view, anti‑God and anti‑human. He is funding protests and demonstrations that have turned violent. I spoke with a young man who was protesting; he said he wasn’t sure if Trump was a racist, but he concluded that Trump is not a racist and is actually anti‑war. He recalled the Vietnam era, when many protested a war that cost over 50,000 lives. The lesson, I think, is that we should stay out of other peoples’ civil wars—Syria, Libya, and the like—unless there is a clear national interest.

Trump, as I understand it, wants to avoid further wars and the loss of American lives. He also wants to address our massive debt, which is now in the trillions, and to revive American manufacturing by keeping jobs at home and lowering corporate taxes. He aims to improve health‑care policies, preserving the good parts of Obamacare—like allowing children to stay on their parents’ plans until age 26—while fixing its flaws.

Many young people with college degrees are stuck in low‑wage, part‑time jobs that don’t provide health insurance, forcing them to live with their parents and, in some cases, to protest out of frustration. Trump’s approach, I believe, will bring peace, even with Russia, whereas the previous administration’s proposals, such as a no‑fly zone over Syria, risked escalating conflict.

## Critique of the Opposition

The Clintons and George Soros represent, in my opinion, a continuation of the old power structures that ignore the will of the people. Soros, in particular, funds riots and protests to advance an atheist, anti‑Christian agenda. He does not believe in democracy; he believes in controlling the system for his own benefit. I see him as the true bully, not Trump. The American people have said no to Soros, no to the Clintons, and now we must move forward with Trump.

## Veterans Day Prayer

Now let us turn to prayer for our veterans and their families.

We ask for blessings on all who have served their country in the armed forces. Grant healing to veterans wounded in body and soul in conflicts around the globe. We especially pray for the young men and women returning from Iraq with injured bodies and traumatized spirits. Bring them solace, O Lord, and hear their prayers.

May the spirit of John Paul II guide us toward peace, honoring veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and all wars. Bless those who serve in non‑combat posts, that their call to service may bear fruit in many positive ways. Grant us creative visions to see a world weary of fighting, affirming the dignity of every human life. Hear our prayers, Prince of Peace. Amen.

*Give Donald Trump a chance, and pray for the healing and peace of our veterans.*
