# Prayer and Election Day: A Call for Guidance

> Bill Young reflects on the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email investigation, offers a heartfelt prayer to the Holy Spirit for America, and urges listeners to vote wisely.

## A Concern About the FBI Investigation

Last night I watched ABC Nightline’s report on the FBI’s decision to clear Hillary Clinton. They said a computer‑generated matching system compared the newly recovered emails with the previously released ones and found no new material. As a former FBI analyst with over fifteen years of service, I’m skeptical. The FBI’s primary task is to examine evidence physically. Relying solely on a computerized match—especially one that may only compare subject lines or titles—risks missing crucial differences. A single piece of evidence, a “smoking gun,” can be decisive, so a thorough, hands‑on review is essential. Without it, any conclusion is questionable.

## Why This Matters for Our Nation

The controversy over the emails ties into broader concerns about transparency and accountability in our government. When the public feels misled, confidence in our institutions erodes. We have seen similar frustrations with other large‑scale computerization projects, such as the rollout of Obamacare. It reminds us that technology cannot replace diligent, human investigation.

Moreover, the stakes are high: the rights of the unborn, the sanctity of family life, and the freedoms we cherish—including religious liberty and the Second Amendment—are all on the line in this election.

## A Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Let us now pray together, invoking the Holy Spirit to guide our nation:

“Come, Spirit of Life, and renew the work of creation, that a more righteous society may be born. Come, Spirit of Knowledge, and render the Church wholly obedient to the Gospel. Come, Spirit of Grace, and transform the Church with holiness, that it may become the family of the children of God. Come, Spirit of Counsel, and guide the Church along the way of history. Come, Spirit of Mercy, and free the Church with merciful love from the slavery of evil. Come, Spirit of Praise, and impart wisdom concerning God. Come, Spirit of Fortitude, and give the Church courage to proclaim the Gospel to all peoples. Come, Spirit of Service, and build the Church upon the foundation of unity and peace, that it may dwell in harmony with the joys and sufferings of humanity. Calm Spirit of Resurrection, as you raised Jesus from the dead, bring all people to eternal life. Amen.”

## A Final Invitation to Vote

As you go to the polls today, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. My own prayer led me to support Donald J. Trump, and I trust that the Spirit will illuminate the conscience of each voter. May we all make decisions that honor God, protect the vulnerable, and uphold the common good.

*May the Holy Spirit guide our hearts and minds as we vote for the future of our nation.*
