## Opening and Personal Intentions

Welcome to Prayer at Lunch. Today is July 14th, and 23 years ago my son Gregory was born—happy birthday, Greg! On this day we begin the seventh day of our novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. I invite you to join me in praying the novena and to add your own personal intentions. My intention today is for my son Gregory on his birthday, that he may draw closer to God through the Holy Spirit.

## Prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel

O Mary, Help of Christians, you promised that wearing your scapular worthily would keep us safe from harm. Protect us in body and soul with your continual aid, and may all that we do be pleasing to your Son and to you. Let us now place our personal petitions before you.

## The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

## The Hail Mary and Closing Prayer

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
