## Remembering Blessed Emmanuel Ruiz

Today, July 7, we honor Blessed Emmanuel Ruiz and his companions, who were martyred in 1860 for refusing to renounce their faith. Emmanuel, a Spanish Franciscan, had founded a convent in Damascus, Syria. Even a century and a half later, Christians in the Middle East continue to suffer persecution. Let us pray for them and for all who are oppressed for their belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.

## Offering the Most Precious Blood

Eternal Father, we offer You the most precious blood which Jesus shed on the Cross and offers every day on the altar. For the glory of His holy name, for the coming of His Kingdom, and for the salvation of all souls. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, without end. Amen.

May Jesus always be praised, for He has saved us by His precious blood.

## Intentions of the Offering

Eternal Father, we offer this blood for:
• The Holy Church, for Pope Francis, for all bishops, especially Bishop Thomas Veenstra, and for all priests, especially Father Jeff McCormack.
• The missionaries, especially Fathers Markle and Salas, and those serving in Thailand.
• The conversion of sinners, for Christian unity, and that the Word may be obeyed out of love.
• Civil authorities, for increased morality, peace, and justice among all peoples.
• The poor, the sick, and all who suffer, that their needs may be met.
• Our spiritual and temporal necessities, and for the souls in purgatory.
• The faithful who have passed from this life, that they may enjoy eternal union with Christ.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, without end. Amen.

May Jesus always be blessed and thanked, because He saved us by His precious blood.

## Closing Prayer

Almighty and eternal God, who sacrificed Your only begotten Son, the Redeemer of the world, we implore that we may venerate the price of our salvation. Grant us the strength to defend against the evils of daily life, that we may enjoy the fruits of heaven in eternity. Through Christ our Lord, amen.
