# Sixth day: Novena to divine mercy
*2016-04-03*

> Bill Young leads the sixth day of the Novena to Divine Mercy, focusing on bringing the meek, the humble, and the souls of little children to the heart of Jesus.

## The call to bring the humble

Today, we continue our Novena to Divine Mercy. On this sixth day, the call is to bring to Jesus the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children, asking Him to immerse them in His mercy. These souls most closely resemble His heart and strengthened Him during His bitter agony. He sees them as earthly angels who keep vigil at His altars.

## The capacity for grace

Jesus pours out torrents of grace upon the world, but only the humble soul is capable of receiving this grace. He favors humble souls with His confidence. As Jesus Himself said, 'Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.' We ask that He receive all meek and humble souls, and the souls of little children, into the abode of His most compassionate heart.

## The fragrance of the little ones

These souls send all of heaven into ecstasy; they are the Heavenly Father's favorites. They are like a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God, and God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in the most compassionate heart of Jesus, where they unceasingly sing a hymn of love and mercy.

## A prayer to the Eternal Father

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the meek souls, the humble souls, and the little children who are enfolded in the most compassionate heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son, and their fragrance rises from earth to reach Your very throne. Father of mercy and all goodness, I beg You, by the love You bear these souls and by the light in which You take them, bless the whole world.

*Only the humble soul is truly capable of receiving the torrents of grace that Jesus pours out upon the world.*
