# Easter Sunday – He Is Risen
*2016-03-27*

> Bill Young celebrates Easter with a special prayer from the Autumn family, reflecting on the resurrection and its transformative power.

## Opening Blessing

Hi, this is Bill Young, and welcome to the 57th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. Today is Easter Sunday—Hallelujah, He has risen!

## Scripture and Prayer Introduction

We begin with a quotation from Matthew 28:5‑6: “Do not be afraid. I know that you are seeking Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.” The prayer continues: “On this most holy and awesome night, our Lord Jesus passed from death to life. Our Good Shepherd rose triumphantly from the grave. The Lamb who died saves our hearts. Jesus Christ, true God and man, fully knows and understands. He took our sin and our grief, has overcome all unbelief. Worthy are you, holy one, the Father’s most beloved Son, who became man to take our part. In humble thanks, we give you our heart.”

## Easter Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We rejoice with unshakable joy this Easter day, the great victory won for us by your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has opened a way for us into the most holy presence. Today, heaven and earth embrace one another again through this new Passover. You have delivered us from the domination of sin and death. The power of Jesus’ resurrection dispels all evil, washes away all guilt, casts out hatred, and humbles pride. Truly, all things are made new.

Fill us again, O Father, with this irresistible joy, confident hope, and passionate love of your obedient Son, that His Spirit may overflow from us into the whole world.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

## Closing

And Hallelujah! Have a very, very happy Easter.

*The resurrection invites us to live in renewed joy, hope, and love, sharing Christ’s triumph with the world.*
