# Six‑Day Novena to Merciful Love
*2016-02-09*

> Bill Young leads the six‑day novena to Merciful Love written by Venerable Mother Speranza of Jesus, reflecting on the Our Father, the Eucharist, and personal conversion.

## Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord, come to my aid. Make haste to help me. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day He rose again, ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## First Day of the Novena

My Jesus, my sorrow is great. I have offended You many times, yet with the heart of a Father You have forgiven me. I turn to You with confidence, asking for the grace to change my behavior, to bear witness to my faith through works, and to live according to Your precepts, burning in the fire of Your love.

We meditate on the Our Father, asking that the daily bread be the most precious— the Blessed Sacrament— the food of our souls. May the Eucharist sustain us, as we depend on God for both body and soul, and may all people trust that they will not lack tomorrow’s needs.

## Prayer for Mercy and Family

Lord Jesus, in this time of turmoil I ask for Your clemency toward this poor creature. May Your goodness triumph, forgiving my faults even though I feel unworthy. Hear my prayer and grant my desire, that I may serve for Your glory and the good of my soul. Place me in Your hands; do with me as You please.

Grant the grace we seek for our families— my wife, my son, my mother, my sisters, their husbands, and their children— that they may receive the Body of Christ and love our Lord.

## Prayer for Living Water and Renewal

Jesus, You are the fountain of life. Grant that I may drink the living water flowing from You, so that I may never thirst again. Drown me in the abyss of Your love and mercy; renew me with Your precious blood, which redeems me. Cleanse me with the water of baptism, and fill me with the Holy Spirit, that I may be pure in body and soul.

Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, now and forever. Amen.

*Through this novena we entrust ourselves to God’s merciful love, seeking conversion, Eucharistic nourishment, and the grace to live as true witnesses of the Faith.*
