## Introductory Prayer

Good afternoon, this is Bill Young, and welcome to the Hour of Mercy, the Third Hour. Today we continue with the Novena to Merciful Love, the second day. This novena was written by Venerable Mother Speranza of Jesus. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

My Jesus, my sorrow is great, considering the disgrace of having offended You many times. Yet You, with the heart of the Father, have not only forgiven me, but, by Your words, ask that I ask, and I shall receive. Invite me, Lord, to ask for what I need. Full of confidence I turn to Your merciful love, that it may grant me the graces promised in this novena, especially the grace to transform my behavior, to bear witness to my faith with my works, to live according to Your will, and to kindle the fire of Your love.

## Meditation on the Our Father

We meditate on the words of the Our Father: “Who art in heaven.” We acknowledge that God is everywhere, Lord of heaven and earth, and that contemplation of heaven moves us to love Him more fully. As pilgrims, we ought to set our minds on heavenly things.

## Petition for Mercy

Lord Jesus, I turn to You in this time of tribulation. If You wish to show me Your clemency, may Your goodness triumph in love and mercy. Forgive my faults, even though I feel unworthy, and graciously hear and grant my desires, if they are for Your glory and the good of my soul. I place myself in Your hands; do with me what You please.

We now ask for the grace we desire: May the Holy Spirit, the Father, and the Son come upon my family—my wife, my son, my sisters, my brother‑in‑law, my nieces and nephews, and their children.

## Confession and Trust

My Jesus, my sins frighten me. I am ashamed of my ingratitude and lack of trust. I fear I have misread the time You gave me to do good. I have offended You, and I turn to the Lord who gives us the words of eternal life. Please pray for us, our fathers.

## Prayer of the Faithful

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May the merciful love of Christ transform our hearts and guide us to live as true witnesses of the faith.*
