# Novena to Obtain a Grace
*2016-01-17*

> Bill Young leads a novena prayer asking the Holy Trinity for grace, focusing on humility, repentance, and a deeper love for God.

## Opening Prayer

Good morning, this is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. I’ve been away for a few days, so I’m catching up on my daily prayers. Let us begin with a prayer to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: “Lord, come to my aid. Make haste to help me. May the Trinity be praised—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever. Amen.”

## Prayer to the Eternal Father

Eternal Father, here I am, a poor and powerless creature. I recognize my weakness and your infinite power. I bring before you my need, trusting that you will provide. Glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever. Amen.

## Prayer to the Eternal Son

Eternal Son, here I am, a poor and ignorant creature. I acknowledge my great ignorance and your infinite wisdom. My request is to pray more faithfully and to love God with all my heart, trusting in your mercy. Glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever. Amen.

## Prayer to the Eternal Holy Spirit

Eternal Holy Spirit, here I am, a poor and ungrateful creature. I recognize my ingratitude and your infinite goodness. I ask that you help me abandon myself completely to the Lord Jesus Christ, with all my heart and soul. Glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever. Amen.

*A sincere, humble prayer to the Trinity opens the way for grace and deeper love of God.*
