*2016-01-14*

> Bill Young leads the eighth day of the Novena to the Infant of Prague, offering prayers, Scripture, and reflections while honoring St. Gregory of Nazianzus.

## Opening Prayer and Blessing

Good afternoon, this is Bill Young. May the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be with us. Oh God, come to my aid; Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Prayer for the Infant of Prague – Day 8

Child Jesus, together with the cross on your breast, I see a little heart, the image of your heart, truly golden because of its infinite tenderness. You are a true friend who generously gives of Himself and sacrifices Himself for those He loves. Ignite in me, O Jesus, the fire of your charity; help me respond to your love.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Personal Petition

O Jesus, through your divine infancy, grant me the grace I ask of you. Align my desires with your plan for my good, looking not at my unworthiness but at my faith and your infinite mercy.

## Reflection on the Sweetness of Christ

The sweet thoughts of Jesus bring joy to our hearts. His presence is sweeter than honey and all other things. Nothing that can be sung is sweeter; nothing that can be heard is more delightful; no thought can surpass Jesus, the Son of God. He is merciful to those who repent, good to those who seek Him, and beyond the power of tongue or pen to describe. May we always find our joy in Him, our future reward and source of happiness. Let us glorify Him now and forever. Amen.

## Closing Prayer

O God, who appointed your Only Son as the Savior of humanity, grant that we may enjoy in heaven the vision of the One whose name we venerate here on earth, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

*May the Infant of Prague continue to inspire us to love and trust in Christ’s infinite mercy.*
