# Novena to the Infant of Prague: Day Six
*2016-01-09*

> Bill Young leads the sixth day of the Novena to the Infant of Prague and reflects on the life of St. Adrian of Canterbury.

## The Example of St. Adrian of Canterbury

Today is January 9th, the feast day of St. Adrian of Canterbury. Adrian was known for many good works and for his intellectual teachings, so much so that the Pope wanted to make him the Bishop of Canterbury. However, Adrian turned down the appointment because he wanted to continue helping in a different capacity. The Pope then asked him to serve as his associate priest, and Adrian remained dedicated to helping the Church in Canterbury. Many years later, when the church where he was buried found his body, it was discovered to be uncorrupted. We pray to St. Adrian today to help us learn to be as devoted to our Lord Jesus as he was.

## The Sixth Day Prayer

As we continue with the sixth day of the Novena to the Infant of Prague, we begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Most lovable Child, as I watch You sustain the world, my heart is filled with joy. I am one of the countless beings You sustain; You see me, You support me in every moment, and You take care of me as You would of a personal possession. Jesus, watch over me and help me in my needs.

## Intercessions and Devotion

We join our prayers with the Our Father and the Hail Mary, asking the Mother of God to pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Through Your divine infancy, O Jesus, grant me the graces that I ask of You. We express our personal desires, trusting that if they are in accordance with Your plan and for our benefit, You will look not upon our unworthiness, but upon our faith and Your infinite mercy.

## The Joy of Finding Jesus

The sweet thoughts of Jesus give joy to the heart; His presence is sweeter than honey. Nothing that can be sung is sweeter, nothing that can be heard is more delightful, and nothing that can be felt is sweeter than Jesus, the Son of God.

Jesus is the hope for all those who repent. He is merciful to those who pray to Him and good to those who search for Him. The joy one feels in finding the Lord is something neither the tongue can describe nor written words express. May Jesus, our future reward, always be the source of our happiness. Let us glorify Him now and forever.

*May we enjoy in heaven the vision of the One whose name we venerate here on earth.*
