> Bill Young discusses the importance of reparation for blasphemy and leads the Litany to the Most Holy Name of Jesus.

## The Call to Reparation

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the 3 o'clock hour. Today, we focus our prayer on a devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus, specifically regarding those who commit blasphemy. In 1843, Jesus revealed a message to the servant of God, Sister Maria of St. Peter, a Carmelite nun of Tours and an apostle of reparation. He told her that blasphemy against His name is committed by everyone—even children—and that this horrible sin opens the wounds of His heart.

## The Golden Lance

Jesus described blasphemy as a poison lance that penetrates His heart, as the sinner curses God and challenges Him openly. To heal these wounds, He provided a 'golden lance' in the form of a specific prayer: 'May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unfathomable name of God be forever praised, blessed, loved, and glorified in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the most holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.' Every time we repeat these words, we wound His heart with love. We cannot fully understand the malice of blasphemy, but heaven grants great glory to those who say, 'O admirable name of God,' in a spirit of reparation.

## The Litany to the Most Holy Name of Jesus

We continue with the Litany to the Most Holy Name of Jesus, calling upon the mercy of the Holy Trinity and the various attributes of our Lord. We invoke Jesus as the Son of the living God, the splendor of the Father, the King of glory, and the Son of justice. We seek mercy from Him who is meek and humble of heart, the lover of souls, our refuge, and the Good Shepherd. We recognize Him as the eternal wisdom, the joy of angels, and the crown of all saints.

## Deliverance and Prayer

In our petitions, we ask Jesus to deliver us from all evil, sin, and the snares of the devil. We seek deliverance through the mysteries of His holy incarnation: His nativity, infancy, divine life, labors, agony, passion, cross, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. We also ask for His grace through the institution of the Most Holy Eucharist and His eternal glory.

## The Majesty of the Lord

We conclude with a prayer reflecting on the majesty of the Lord's name throughout the world. As the scriptures remind us, God has made humanity a little less than the angels, crowning us with glory and beauty and placing all things under our feet. We acknowledge that the name of the Lord is majestic in all the earth.

*By honoring the Holy Name of Jesus, we can offer a 'golden lance' of love to heal the wounds caused by blasphemy.*
