# Seventh Day Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe
*2015-12-10*

> Bill Young reflects on the seventh day of the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, focusing on families praying and worshiping together, and offers prayers for parents and children.

## Introduction

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to Prayer and Mercy. Today we continue with the seventh day of our novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, just before her feast day on December 12.

## The Theme of the Seventh Day

The seventh day focuses on the family that prays and worships together. We ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, to bless all families, that parents may live holy lives and educate their children in the Christian faith, and that children may obey and follow their parents’ guidance.

## Our Prayer

O Lady of Guadalupe, we beg you that parents live a holy life and educate their children in a Christian manner; that children obey and follow the direction of their parents; that all members of the family pray and worship together. This we ask of you, O Mother, through our Father who is in heaven.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Creed and Doxology

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May our families be united in prayer, living out the love of Christ together.*
