# Day 6 of the Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe
*2015-12-09*

> Bill Young celebrates the feast of St. Juan Diego and leads the sixth day of the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, praying for vocations and reciting the Creed and Our Father.

## Feast of St. Juan Diego

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to Prayer at Lunch. Today is Wednesday, December 9th, the feast day of St. Juan Diego, the humble Mexican peasant to whom Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in the 16th century.

## The Nicene Creed

We begin with the Creed: “I believe in one God, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.”

## Prayer for Vocations

Day 6 – Mary, Mother of Vocations, multiply fruitful vocations and fill the earth with religious houses, which will be a light and warmth for the world. Provide safety in stormy nights, and send us many priests and religious. This I ask of you, O Mother.

## The Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

## Hail Mary and Closing Prayer

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Lord, we praise the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May Our Lady of Guadalupe inspire more vocations to bring her light into the world.*
